DIRECTIONS FOR GETTING TO SUPC OFFICES (BUILDING 29)

BY CAR:

From London and the East:

  1. Leave M4 at junction 10 taking the A329(M) dual carriageway towards Reading.
  2. From the A329(M) take the second exit "A4 Reading Town Centre".
  3. Stay in the left hand lane following signs for Basingstoke A33.
  4. Go straight across at the traffic lights into London Road (a three lane one way street).
  5. Stay in the left hand lane, going straight ahead through traffic lights.
  6. Look out for the MURCO Petrol Station on the right hand side.
  7. After the next set of traffic lights turn immediately left into Crown Place (a narrow lane – easily missed! - signposted Witan Hall and University of Reading); the entrance to the car park is the second turning on the left about 100 yards down this lane.

From Newbury and the West:

Leave M4 at Junction 11. Turn left and take dual carriageway into Reading. At the fourth roundabout turn right following signs to Craddock Road / Elgar Road (South) - go past the retail park (Curry's and PC World). Straight across the two roundabouts. At the traffic lights (T Junction) turn left. You are now on the old Basingstoke Road, straight across two sets of traffic lights and then at the roundabout turn right into Christchurch Road. Turn first left down Kendrick Road and then first right into Allcroft Road. Turn left into Redlands Road and proceed to the bottom of the road. Turn left onto London Road remaining in left hand lane. Then follow (7.) above.

NB If you miss the turning into Crown Place, take the next left into Kendrick Road, the next left into Morgan Road (or the one after that into Allcroft Road), left at the T junction into Redlands Road, down to the end where it meets London Road and start again!

HAVING FOUND THE LONDON ROAD CAMPUS:

  • Please park in White Gates park (accessed via Crown Place).
  • Having parked, walk towards the Clock Tower.
  • Walk down the cloister to your right.
  • Building 33 is on the corner and you will find Building 29 (where the SUPC Offices are situated) a short way down.

BY TRAIN:

If you are coming by train, it is a short (5-10 minute) taxi ride from Reading Station. Ask to be dropped off at the main entrance on LONDON ROAD. Walk through the entrance building and out the other side (the College Chapel will be on your right). Carry straight on then follow the covered walkway bearing right (i.e. away from the Clock Tower, and passing the Great Hall on your right) until you find yourself at the top end of a cloister. Then see (4) and (5) above.
