Implementation Support

The purpose of the Implementation Support service is to provide professional procurement capability to institutions, to help them improve the maturity of their procurement function and in the process deliver efficiency savings.

Specifically, taking out a full subscription to the Procurement Shared Service will provide 18 days of professional procurement support to the subscriber. The intention is for their time to be focused on supporting the delivery of one or more of the improvement actions identified through the maturity study.

The types of project which we expect to be supporting could include:

  • Procurement strategic planning
  • Category strategy development and implementation
  • Major procurement initiatives
  • Development of procurement infrastructure including e-procurement
  • Support for implementation of Sector-wide initiatives such as Sustainability
  • Development of cross-institution, partnership based initiatives.

The target is to generate a minimum of £25,000 efficiency savings to the institution through this support. Our intention is that these interventions are also written up as case studies (anonomised where commercial confidentiality dictates) to help raise procurement maturity across the sector as a whole.
