Commodity Groups
Commodity Groups meet on a regular basis (normally two to three times a year) and are responsible for advising on the contracting programme, managing agreements and instigating other value for money initiatives as appropriate. They comprise both technical and procurement representatives from each full and associate member institution; a full list of members for each commodity group can be found on each group page. The SUPC office provides secretarial and professional procurement support to each group.
Commodity groups provide an ideal opportunity for members to network with like minded colleagues and they very often provide a support network. Attendance at commodity groups is encouraged as it helps members gain a greater understanding of SUPC agreements and thereby secure the greatest benefits. Commodity group members are nominated by the institution Head of Procurement and if you are interested in joining a commodity group please contact your Head of Procurement.
