We’re pleased to present the UKUPC Responsible Procurement Commodity Mapping Tool to UKUPC members, supporting the identification of potential responsible procurement risks and opportunities.

The tool has been developed by members of the UKUPC Responsible Procurement Network and the UK FHE (Further and Higher Education) Responsible Procurement Group (formerly known as the HEPA and EAUC RPG), and offers an indicative assessment of risks at ProcHE level 2 aligned to the Sustain Supply Chain Code of Conduct.

The tool covers four thematic areas, and the associated relevant risks and opportunities:

Environmental Sustainability

Carbon/Climate Change, Biodiversity, Water, Novel Entities, Material Scarcity & Security, Waste/ Disposal, Circular Economy Opportunities, Environmental Data Maturity Opportunities.

Social Compliance

Equality, Modern Slavery, Social Opportunities (local).

Working Environment and Terms

Wages and Terms, Health and Safety.

Ethical Compliance & Economic Development

Bribery & Corruption, GDPR, Cyber Security.

The convenient search functionality allows you to select a level 2 ProcHE code and generate a High to Low risk/opportunity classification via a simple interface, as an initial guide to understanding and managing potential risks and opportunities. Within the tool, information is provided on the factors and assumptions that sit behind the classifications.
