
Owen joined SUPC in December 2024 as a Category Manager, bringing a wealth of experience from both public and private sector procurement.
Owen began his procurement career with the Crown Commercial Service (CCS), where he held various roles supporting central government procurement. During his tenure, he was seconded to the Cabinet Office to assist with the creation of Shared Services Connect Limited (SSCL). In this role, he managed the tender process via the CCS e-sourcing platform, ensured compliance of tender documentation, and maintained transparent and equitable supplier communications throughout the exercise.
After his time at CCS, Owen transitioned to the private sector as an IT Category Manager for a global waste and recycling organisation. There, he collaborated closely with the UK CIO and IT teams, leveraging global framework agreements and contributing to Group-level procurement initiatives to support the UK entity’s objectives.
Most recently, Owen served as a Category Manager at University College London (UCL), where he worked alongside academics to procure medical research equipment funded by Research England’s Research Capital Investment Funds and the Medical Research Council.
Earlier in his career, Owen gained valuable experience in the defence industry, holding various roles both in the UK and overseas.
Outside of work, Owen has a passion for aviation and technology, proudly identifying as an Apple enthusiast. He enjoys spending quality time with his husband and their two dogs along the scenic Pembrokeshire coast.
