Tara Howe

Tara joined SUPC in September 2025 as a Senior Category Manager, bringing a strong foundation in public sector procurement along with extensive experience in the housing sector, specialising in construction and property services.

Tara began her career in the manufacturing and engineering industries, where she developed a practical, solutions-focused approach to procurement and supply chain management. Building on this experience, she transitioned into the public sector and has spent the past several years working with housing associations across the South of England. Her focus has been on delivering complex, high-value procurement projects in areas such as building safety and compliance, planned and reactive maintenance, retrofit and sustainability programmes, and new-build development.

Tara holds a CIPS Level 4 Diploma in Procurement and Supply and is recognised as an Advanced Practitioner of the Procurement Act 2023, bringing up-to-date legislative insight and compliance expertise to her role. She is committed to embedding the principles of transparency, social value, and sustainability into every stage of the procurement lifecycle.

Throughout her career, Tara has successfully aligned procurement strategies with business and community goals – working cross-functionally with asset management, development, legal, and resident engagement teams to ensure effective, accountable outcomes. Her collaborative style and commercial insight have made her a trusted advisor on procurement best practice in regulated environments.

When she’s not navigating procurement strategy, Tara’s life is full of energy and adventure at home with her husband, two lively young boys, and a mischievous dog in tow. A lifelong learner at heart, she’s always diving into new interests—her latest passion is growing her own fruit and veg, which has quickly become a family affair. Whether experimenting in the kitchen, tackling a DIY project, or getting stuck into outdoor life, Tara brings the same curiosity, creativity, and hands-on spirit to her weekends as she does to her work.
