Over 200 members attended the webinar on the UK Food Information Amendment (Natasha’s Law), held in partnership with LUPC, TUCO and Panache Consultancy on 24 March. The amendment, coming into effect on 1 October 2021, extends the already established allergy labelling requirements to products made on the premises they are being sold at.

What is Natasha’s Law?

The UK Food Information Amendment will require all food businesses to provide complete ingredient lists and allergen labelling on foods pre-packaged for direct sale on the premises to help protect consumers by providing potentially life-saving allergen information on the packaging.  Whilst the requirements are quite straightforward, the introduction of Natasha’s Law is likely to create some challenges for caterers.

About the Webinar

The webinar discussed the detail around the Law, the challenges to caterers (particularly with COVID-19 still impacting businesses), the continued reliance on packaged products and more. The session outlined the legal requirements; practical implementation advice, information about the legislation, and consequences of noncompliance.
