About Us

Welcome to the Southern Universities Purchasing Consortium (SUPC)
We are a membership-based buying organisation for universities and further education colleges that develops and manages framework agreements.  Our members have access to over 90 professionally tendered, EU compliant agreements.  By using our agreements, members can purchase competitively priced goods and services across a wide range of commodity areas.  These agreements can save members both time and money.

As well as agreements, members have access to advice and support, expert market knowledge, free supplier credit checking services, spend analysis, special commodity-specific events and low-cost training courses.  

Members can also make use of SUPC’s Procurement Shared Service.  This service provides expert procurement consultancy and support to the Higher and Further Education sectors.  The Procurement Shared Service also manages the Procurement Maturity Assessment programme for English Higher Education Institutions.

Our mission is to deliver value to our members through better procurement. 


Our Vision
By 2017/18 we will have consolidated our position as the primary higher education procurement partner for its members. We will achieve this through providing high quality collaborative agreements that deliver excellent value and also through providing professional procurement support, advice and guidance for our higher education members. In addition we will take a significant role in driving the national higher education procurement agenda.

Our Members
We are one of the largest purchasing consortia in England and our members, who are mainly based in southern England, are charitable organisations that operate in the tertiary education sectors. To see a list of our members, click here.

How We Work
SUPC works very closely with the other regional and national higher education purchasing consortia in the UK to offer value for money agreements to members.  To support this, we have formalised our close links with the other three regional purchasing consortia in England to form a company called Purchasing England Ltd (PEL).
