This online, facilitated workshop, spread over two 3-hour modules, is for you if you want to develop your influence. You will gain insights into your own, and others’ communications preferences; know-how and when to adjust your influencing style situationally and be able to present compelling cases to non-Finance audiences to develop your credibility and impact.
Intended audience:
- Anyone in a Finance role who needs to influence stakeholders to achieve goals when they do not necessarily have formal ‘power’ or authority over those stakeholders.
Objectives:
By the end of the course you will have:
- Identifed your stakeholder map and know who to influence and when
- Understood your communication style preferences, those of stakeholders, and know how to adapt
- Considered the difference between ‘intention’ and ‘impact’ and planned how to close the gap
- Created a compelling articulation of how your role/project adds value to stakeholders
- Identified the dynamics that block effective communication and have tools to ‘unblock’ critical conversations through observation of ‘forum theatre’
- Techniques for using powerful questions that build rapport, insight, put ownership in the right place and turn conflict into dialogue
- Core principles of negotiation that can be applied in everyday conversations
