SUPC members can now access the new General Laboratory Equipment framework agreement (LAB5061 LU). The framework went live on 15 June 2021 and will run for 3 years plus an optional 12-month extension to 14 June 2025. The framework covers a wide range of laboratory equipment that would be required in a fully functioning scientific laboratory, as well as associated post-installation services such as preventative and reactive maintenance, calibration and repair of equipment. The technical scope has been refined and improved by LUPC through two successive terms of owning and managing this framework

Framework Details

Framework Lots and Suppliers Awarded:

What’s New:

The following elements are entirely new to this iteration of the framework:
  • Desktop Calculator: the addition of the Desktop Calculator call-off mechanism was added to the existing call-off methods (Ranked Direct Award and Mini Competition).
  • Annual lot ranking refresh: the specification allows suppliers to adjust their pricing once a year to absorb unavoidable manufacturing cost increases.  The new ranking refresh process will factor these price increases into the existing rankings, to incentivise suppliers in remaining as competitive as possible on price.  Any annual price adjustments will be reflected in the suppliers’ lot rankings for the successive year.
  • Sustain Supply Chain Evaluation System: the responsible procurement element of the framework will be managed by the new Sustain Supply Chain Evaluation System, which is an online database that will document and assess the ethical, social, economic, and environmental standards and practices of the suppliers. The system allows LUPC to monitor and assess the successful bidders’ sustainability data and practices and provides an opportunity for continuous improvement and risk management.
  • New Lots: in addition to the seven lots in the previous framework agreement (LAB5028 LU), five additional lots have been added to increase the scope of the equipment available and reduce duplication across other frameworks:
