Welcoming our new SUPC Council Chair

Ahead of the winter break, we shared an update about the role of SUPC Council Chair and welcomed nominations for a new Council Chair up until early 2024.

We are now delighted to announce the appointment of Rob Bloomer from the University of East Anglia as our new SUPC Council Chair, effective from our next SUPC Heads of Procurement Council Session on 18th January.

Before we tell you a bit more about Rob, we would like to thank Helen Baker. Helen has been a great advocate to SUPC serving as Chair and representing members’ interests. Helen’s dedication in challenging both internal and external aspects ensures we deliver value to all members. Thank you, Helen, for all your support over the past 4 years.

Alongside Rob’s new role of SUPC Council Chair, he is the Interim Director of Governance and Assurance at the University OF East Anglia and leads the University’s Strategic Procurement, Operational Procurement, Commercial Data, Insurance, Property, Accounts Payable and Receivable, Governance, Non-Academic Student Misconduct, Academic Partnerships and Apprenticeships teams. This experience affords Rob a view of the bigger picture, broader themes at play and how procurement teams need to react in order to support success.
